How many times have you fantasized about having a kid free weekend to yourself???
Well, this weekend I had exactly that.
I attended the Pro Blogger conference on the Gold Coast which meant I had to pull on my big girl pants, and woman up to go there by myself. EEK! I haven’t done anything like that for ages.
I have to admit – I was nervous as hell!
New people I didn’t know, no idea what to expect, and a feeling of ‘why do I think I have the right to go to a bloggers conference’?
Anyway, I booked my tickets a few months ago, before the fear set in, and since I am not in the habit of blowing money for nothing I decided I had better show up.
I was really happy I did – it was awesome! My brain is exploding with so many ideas and inspiration to get my long grounded blog up an running. (finally)
I met some really great people – bloggers, like Naughty Naturopath Mum – who is just lovely, (I knew she would be) newbies and pros.
I got to listen to some of my idol bloggers, like Lisa Corduff.
But I am really proud of myself. I did it. I felt the fear, and did it anyway.
One small step in my blogging career. One giant leap for my confidence.
What if I had decided not to go – I would have missed out on so much!
How many times have you talked yourself out of something because of FEAR? If you are like me, too many times.
Every time we replace fear with an action step, even if it is a tiny one, we are robbing that negative voice in our head, that mean girl, the one that says get back in the corner, of her power.
I figure practice makes perfect, so I might just try practicing ignoring her a bit more and enjoy what happens.
What little thing have you done to get past a fear?
Did it make you feel amazing after you did it?
